Between 2015 and 2019, the share of elected prosecutors in the U.S. who are women of color has barely increased—from 1% to 2%, according to the Reflective Democracy Campaign. Not surprisingly, many of these women have formed close and supportive friendships that help them navigate everything from the unprecedented challenges they face in office to how to shield their families from the sexism and racism they endure for doing their jobs.
